JOIN US for the culminating event of Green Map System’s festival-long scavenger hunt at the 14th Street Y (344 E 14th St @ 1st Ave) TODAY, Sunday (October 10) 1-4PM- you can participate even if you didn’t hunt for icons throughout the festival!

Community Icon Design Studio organized by Green Map System
October 10 (1 – 4pm): 14th Street Y, 344 E 14th Street, Lobby.
Green Map System, a non-profit organization that empowers international communities worldwide to chart their progress toward a sustainable future, will create a specially prepared marker system that illuminates under-recognized green living sites and natural, cultural, and social justice resources along 14th Street. Individuals are invited to take the tour any time in the course of the festival. Then, join Green Map System at the 14th Street Y on 10/10/10 to share your findings and help design new Green Map Icons as part of the Global Work Party for Climate Solutions.
Green Map System supports inclusive participation in sustainable community development worldwide using mapmaking as its medium, as seen on their website www.greenmap.org. From its base in the East Village, this eco-cultural nonprofit has created adaptable and interactive resources as well as award-winning universal icons now being utilized by 700 cities, towns and villages in 55 countries, to map ecological sustainability.
