Make clay impressions of 14th Street with Liene Bosque and Nicole Seisler - LAST CHANCE is SUNDAY, 11AM-3PM
Join Liene Bosque and Nicole Seisler as they make their impressions of NYC’s 14th Street in clay. They will be heading out at 11AM from Union Square to the WEST side of 14th Street. Catch them on their way - it’s an experience not to be missed!
If you want to catch them when they start out - head over to the NE corner of 14th St and 4th Ave (by the Food Emporium). Otherwise, look for them along the western part of 14th!
Dressed in “official” uniforms, the collaborative duo will walk along 14th Street with a hand-fabricated cart that holds blocks of wet clay. This clay will be used to make direct impressions of often-unnoticed details of the spaces they traverse in their walk: architectural ornamentation, cracks in the sidewalk, tree bark, fences, etc. The public is invited to walk with them and participate in the creation of objects that will serve as a record of a specific moment in time of New York City’s history.
Liene Bosquê and Nicole Seisler are Chicago-based artists currently pursuing their MFA degrees at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They have been working together on City Souvenirs for the past year. This project blends their interests in site-specific work and the use of walking as a tool for art making. www.citysouvenirs.wordpress.com
