Pump 14 is a manual bucket filtration system performed by six members of the BroLab collaborative. Using self-constructed yokes and pails, they will transport water from the Hudson River to the East River by foot, ultimately shedding light on the city’s vital waterways capped by 14th Street. This action will offer surprise encounters and periodic chance outbursts along the way. It can be located and followed on www.twitter.com/brolab.
BroLab grew out of a series of studio visits and bar crawls that subsequently evolved into a collaborative group. The group encourages each of its members to maintain their individual practice, while offering new ideas that form BroLab projects. The mission of the collaborative is to explore contemporary concepts and experimental methods.
